Departure Areas

There are more than three departure areas in Babadağ. It allows for 1700 meters south departure. The 1800 meters northward takeoff is a bit small and steep. The 1900 meter north-peak takeoff is comfortable enough to start the flight. The 1700 meter south take-off is usually wind-fighted during the day and is therefore the most preferred. This area is large enough to place about 20 wings at a time.

Landing Zone

Belcekiz Beach, located on the coast of Ölüdeniz, is a long, wide, very comfortable and safe landing zone.

Meteorological Features

The weather in summer is sometimes stable and consistent. Sometimes in the morning the north wind blows and the departures take place in the valley. The south take-off faces a 5-20 km/h wind for parts of the day.

Things to Consider, Is Paragliding Dangerous?

Especially at the beginning and end of the seasons, the change of season causes sudden changes in weather conditions and clouds can be in the take-off area. On southbound takeoff, a westerly wind from the west of the mountain until noon can create a false southerly wind and confuse solo or inexperienced pilots. It is in their favor to follow and follow the advice of local and not overly ambitious pilots.
